The New Haven Independent, New Haven, CT: Reporting Intern (fall 2011)
-Internship funded by the CT News Project. Wrote stories on health, crime, city politics, and the arts. Pitched and wrote a series of stories on poverty landlords contributing to neighborhood blight in New Haven. One story was featured in ProPublica’s “Muck Reads” (see web site at neenasatija.wordpress.com/clips for link).

– Internship funded by the Kaiser Media Foundation. Wrote in-depth stories on public health, consumer health, and the environment. Contributed occasionally to the Metro section for breaking news stories, including coverage of Tropical Storm Irene.
